Precast/Prestressed Girder Help

Negative Moment Continuity Steel Tab

In this tab, define the rebar in the slab to be considered for the negative moment continuity steel. This tab is only accessible for continuous span structures. Since the steel is being provided per beam, you should input all the steel that is in effective width distance of the beam under consideration. Program will use this provided steel to compare against required Mu due to negative loads. The Copy To feature allows you to copy the rebar layout to different beams in different spans. When the span lengths are different, you must verify and adjust the span lengths manually.

SettingDescription
Number of Bars Whole number of bars.
Rebar Size

Select the bar size from the list. The bar size name refers to a rebar material definition loaded from the Rebar Library. Rebar material definitions include specification of: unit type, yield stress (fy), ultimate stress (fu), modulus of elasticity, deformed diameter, and area. The Rebar Library can be found under the Libraries menu. Rebar material definitions can only be added and deleted from the Rebar Library.

Rebar Dist from Top Distance from the top of the slab to the center of rebar.
Start Enter the starting location for the bars measured from the left CL of Pier for the span under consideration.
End Enter the ending location for the bars measured from the left CL of Pier for the span under consideration.
